After taking into consideration all the feedback from the discussion, I've redone a few things that I originally had.
1. I changed it from having white background/black text to black background/white text. I did this to contrast against background image.
2. The biggest thing (in my opinion) I changed was the navigation, which affects most of how my website was going to work. I placed the navbar against the natural contours of the image to make it really stand out. It's lopsided to make it less linear.
3. I thought about the space of the website and decided to come up with spots for a few links. In this mock-up I have "contact me", "links", "main gallery" decided.
4. Added a few small things, like the page title on the bottom and a new font for completeness sake.
That is basically what I've done so far. This weekend I intend to do some research on some other Flash websites as well as start playing with Flash a bit more. Expect flow charts in the next post as well.

OK looking good visually .. like the white text against bground a lot.. the open field really works well.. but need a concrete plan .. a map or structure if you will.. tks

I have "contact me", "links", "main gallery". This too much of a direction towards a personal site. Not the idea of this site. Its to be a project focusing on the notion of 'space' - needs serious development for a working model next week - in class... Gianni
